Debt Ceiling Debate


I find it funny, well, perhaps not funny, watching the Republicans blast the Democrats during the ceiling debate. It is strange that the GOP would be blaming the Democrats for standing on ideology and strangling the negotiation process; when it is the minority of Tea Party members in the GOP holding majority party hostage. Rep. Boehner and the GOP are screaming for the President to present a plan, which he has; while they have no intention of passing his plan. It is the Republicans that continue to walk out of discussions, or fail to return telephone calls to start discussions. To the current crop of GOP members bipartisanship and compromise are dirty words. The bottom line is this; the Republican philosophy is that if it is bad for the country, it is good for the Party. Their goal is to win the White House and control of the Congress, the country and its people be damned. That's not leadership. That is ideology. - Greg Parks. 10:02:50 PM
